LDF Govt: Failed to Implement Schemes : Says Rahul Gandhi

Palakkad: Launching an attack on the CPI-M-led LDF government in Kerala, AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi Monday charged that corruption and laxity in administration was the main reason behind people not getting welfare and development schemes of the Centre.
Launching his day-long election campaign in the left bastion of Kerala, Gandhi, at a public meeting here, said state government had not shown any sincerity in implementing the welfare and development projects approved by the Centre.
Lashing out at policies of the BJP, he said Congress stood for the poor and downtrodden while the saffron party was for the rich people. BJP’s thrust was on “communalisation of all sectors” in the country, he charged.
He said the Congress-led UPA government had implemented a series of welfare and development projects across the country, the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act Scheme being the most important.
Gandhi said that to continue development works initiated by the UPA government, people should vote the coalition back to power.
He said, “the future of the country is in the hands of youths” and asked them to play a vital role in politics.
